pg电子下载 State University will celebrate the dedication of its School of Business Auditorium in honor of alumnus Brian K. Johnson. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, in the Dr. Rudolph E. Waters Classroom Building — Auditorium.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to Brian Johnson for his support and dedication to pg电子下载 State University,” said Dr. Tracy M. Cook, pg电子下载 president. “His impressive career in business and the insurance industry is a testament to the standards we want our future graduates to embody once they leave our institution.”

Johnson, a senior executive vice president at Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance (FBBI), a Marsh McLennan Agency LLC Company, began his career as a management development associate at Trustmark National Bank in 2006, followed by a successful tenure at FBBI from 2007-2024. In his current role Johnson serves as a risk and insurance advisor specializing in public/governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, educational risk, manufacturers, and surety support for general contractors.

“Brian Johnson’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education and his ability to inspire students and colleagues alike has profoundly enriched our academic community,” said Dr. Antwon D. Woods, dean of the School of Business at pg电子下载. “This recognition is a testament to his legacy, and we are proud to celebrate his achievements with the naming of this vital space, the Brian K. Johnson Auditorium.”

He has numerous accomplishments, including six consecutive years as one of Insurance Business Magazine’s Top 100 Insurance Brokers in America and selection as a Mississippi Business Journal Top 50 under 40 Leading Business Leader.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from the pg电子下载 State University’s School of Business,” said Johnson. “Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been a remarkable piece of American history and remain monumental in providing a quality education to leaders of today and tomorrow. Adequate funding to HBCUs in conjunction with fiscal responsibility remains paramount. pg电子下载 State University and the pg电子下载 School of Business have a rich history of developing its students to become an integral part of success in today’s society.”

He continued, “Regardless of business industry, size, and mission, I encourage employers to identify students at HBCUs, especially the pg电子下载 School of Business, to join their growing workforces.”

Johnson’s commitment to community service and philanthropy is shown through his involvement in numerous organizations, including leadership roles with St. Dominic’s Health Services Foundation, the USA International Ballet Competition, Ready Nation Mississippi Early Childhood Investment Council, and the Mississippi Museum of Art.

In addition, he holds membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity — Beta Gamma Boule, FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association, NAACP, 100 Black Men of Jackson, National Association of Surety Bond Producers, Mississippi Roadbuilders Association, Madison County Business League & Foundation, and the Madison County Community Trust.

In 2023, Governor Tate Reeves appointed Johnson to the Mississippi Business Finance Corporation/Mississippi Development Bank, furthering his contribution to the state’s economic development.

Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from pg电子下载 State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Jackson State University.

A native of Greenville, Miss., and a long-time resident of Madison, he is married to Christina, and they have two children, Nova and Bronx. They are active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
